By Staff Reporter
KARACHI, Aug 27: Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif said that they left everything in India and came to Pakistan with a dream
that they could live with respect and in harmony, but all hopes were dashed. Shahbaz Sharif was speaking at the Karachi Press Club's Meet the Press programme.
He said that his party would not support any unconstitutional step. He also opposed any judicial martial law, adding that everything should be done in accordance with the constitution. He suggested depoliticising the police and administration of Karachi, carrying out a ruthless operation against target killers and extortion mafia, and giving more resources to the city to restore peace in "mini Pakistan". He further said that hired killers should be crushed adding that if Karachi failed to eliminate them rest of Pakistan would suffer.
He said that idea of formation of new provinces was not wrong. But the tragedy is that the issue was raised to hide corruption. He added that his party would support the creation of new provinces on an administrative basis.
